Art is a part of TERI BASTABLE-PODSIKI’s daily life. The need to create is something inherent in her artistic makeup, and she is continually inspired by the Alaska tableau. The vivid colors of the ocean, the dramatic backdrop of the Chilkat Valley, and the places she has been fortunate enough to travel, heavily influence her work.

As Marc Chagall said, “Great art picks up where nature ends.” The opportunities are endless for Teri to develop higher levels of understanding and experimentation with the molten glass, the colors she loves, and the reactions that can be achieved. Her creative process is driven by exploring the combined use of reactive glass colors that contain copper, sulfur, lead, and non-reactive colors.
