From the artist: I live in the Chilkat Valley in Haines, Alaska. A great many bears also call this valley their home. I carved this piece to honor them. It represents a mother bear and her cub and is carved in the Northwest coast style of the Tlingit Natives who have lived here much longer than me. It is with respect and permission that I make my art.
