For as long as BRIAN STAURSETH can remember he has been drawn to nature and wildlife. Growing up in Minnesota he went to the woods to experience wildlife, and to learn and explore. That was the beginning of his journey to understand and experience nature. About 30 years ago he discovered photography and over time realized through photography he could share his love of wildlife and the natural world with others. Today, with half of his life lived in Alaska, he continues on that mission quest: his passion to communicate the beauty of wildlife in its native environment.
As a photographer in Haines, in South East Alaska, Brian’s goal is to visually capture the spirit of an animal, bird or the natural scene and communicate his vision providing images that create a sense of wonder, awe and understanding, and sometimes the comedy of the natural world. Through his perspective, he places the viewer in the environment or the moment.
